Recognition
Restaurant OOBU is a Chaîne des Rôtisseurs plaque restaurant — one of the few restaurants in Turku to which the international gastronomic society has granted the Blazon in recognition of excellent cuisine, service and hospitality.
The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is one of the world’s oldest gastronomic societies, with roots reaching back to 1248, when King Louis IX of France chartered the guild of Parisian rôtisseurs. The society was re-founded in Paris in 1950 and today unites some 25,000 professionals and friends of gastronomy in more than 80 countries.
The Blazon plaque is granted only to restaurants whose cuisine, service and hospitality meet the society’s international standards.
The plaque is never taken for granted: a plaque restaurant is expected to earn its recognition every evening, for every guest.
Restaurant OOBU was awarded the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs plaque on 9 March 2022. The plaque hangs on our restaurant’s wall in the historic Bassi house on the bank of the River Aura.
In a plaque restaurant, every dinner is prepared and served to a standard the international society continually reviews. For our guest it is a promise: fresh Finnish ingredients, the craft of the kitchen and the service of the dining room — in Turku, every day. OOBU also hosts Chaîne member evenings; ask about the next one.
Members of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs are always especially welcome at OOBU: we grant members a 10 % benefit on every visit. Mention your membership when booking — your table at the plaque restaurant awaits.
